Asim Altokhais is a multi–award-winning screenwriter and novelist with over fifteen awards from international film festivals and competitions. A graduate of Vancouver Film School (2011), where he majored in Writing for Film and Television, Asim later earned his M.A. in Writing for Script and Screen from Falmouth University in the United Kingdom.

He has published eight books through renowned publishers including Disney, Dark Horse, iUniverse, 3rd Action Comics, Kalemat, Al Hudhud, and Culture Trends.

Asim is also a columnist for Makkah Newspaper, where his weekly Wednesday articles explore cinema culture and provide critical analyses of both local and international films. He has been invited as a featured speaker at prestigious events such as TEDx Riyadh, CYM Forum, MENA Cinema Forum, BroadcastPro Awards, and the DICM Conference. Additionally, he has served as a judge and trainer for numerous international workshops and festivals, including the Sharjah Film Platform, U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, and MENA Cinema Forum.

In 2014, Asim co-produced and translated the feature documentary Earth Medicine, and was one of only twenty-five international writers selected by Disney to contribute to Storied Places: A Comics Collection — making him the first and only Middle Eastern writer to write for Disney. He is also the first Saudi writer to win the Arab Thought Foundation’s Kitabi 21 Prize for his comic book Alaa: The Bounty Hunter.

In 2017, 3rd Action Comics debuted its first title, The Last Exorcist™, created and written by Asim Altokhais, premiering at the Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) to critical and commercial success.

Asim also wrote and produced the short film Meeting With the Devil™, shot in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, and another short titled Behind the Bentley Glass, filmed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His diverse portfolio includes numerous short and feature-length screenplays and novels.

Asim’s works have been finalists in multiple international film competitions, earning top honors such as 1st Place at the Screenwriters’ Pitch Award, Best Short Film Script at the Canadian Feedback Film Festival, and Best Short Film at the Canada Shorts Film Festival. His short film Meeting With the Devil™ has been screened at the London City Film Festival and at the Tuke Cinema Room of Regent’s University, London.
